Health Match BC is a free recruitment support service funded by the Government of British Columbia. Health Match BC’s employment services for nurses are part of several Ministry of Health initiatives aimed at reducing the time, effort and costs associated with obtaining registration and employment as a nurse in British Columbia (BC).
Our employment services team specializes in providing personalized, one-to-one assistance to Registered Nurses (RNs), Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPNs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (RPNs) and connecting them with public health employers and nursing opportunities throughout BC. Our dedicated team will equip you with the insights and information you need to find the ideal community and job opportunities to launch your career in BC. We are here to answer your questions and provide you with essential resources to enhance your job search efforts, and streamline your application process. With our expertise and guidance, you will be well-prepared to navigate the job market and transition into your new career in BC.

Meet Our Employment Service Consultants
Heather
Heather joined the Health Match BC team in 2023 and supports internationally educated nurses through their journey to work as a nurse in BC. Heather became sensitive to the shortage of nurses in the public health care system when members of her family fell ill during the pandemic. There she saw the real need for nurses at a time when they were needed most. Now, as a member of the IEN Nursing Recruitment Team Heather focuses her efforts on educating, guiding and supporting international nurses, on their journey to work as a nurse in BC.
Heather has 20 years of experience working in HR, project management and recruitment both in the private and public sector. When Heather is not working, you might see her at a golf course on the beautiful North Shore of Vancouver or out enjoying exceptional cuisine at a local restaurant with her family.
Nicole
Nicole joined the Health Match BC team in 2020 and has since supported hundreds of healthcare professionals in their journey to work in British Columbia. With a background in psychology and human resources, Nicole uses a personalized approach to guide candidates through the job search process, helping them find their ideal opportunities in BC.
Nicole’s connection to internationally educated healthcare professionals is personal. Having witnessed her father’s own immigration and re-credentialing journey in Canada, she understands the unique challenges and triumphs involved. This experience fuels her passion for empowering candidates and ensuring a smooth, stress-free job search and relocation process.
When she isn’t working at Health Match BC, Nicole enjoys gardening, spending quality time with family and friends, and exploring new and exciting cuisines.
Shannon
Shannon joined the Health Match BC Nurse Recruitment Team in the spring of 2022 as a Recruitment Consultant. She enjoys working with candidates from around the world and loves nothing more than supporting her applicants in finding exactly the right job opportunity in beautiful British Columbia.
With over a decade of recruitment experience in both health care and post-secondary, Shannon prides herself on providing her candidates with resources and supports for their individual needs in starting their journey to becoming a nurse in British Columbia.
Born and raised in British Columbia, Shannon loves nothing more than sharing with others the beautiful part of the world she lives in! You can always count on her to point you in the right direction of the best cup of coffee in town! Outside of work Shannon can be found exploring all the best BC has to offer with her little family!
Suzanne
Suzanne brings over ten years of experience in healthcare and technology recruitment, with a strong background in leading high-volume hiring initiatives and guiding recruitment teams. With a Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion and Education, she combines her healthcare knowledge with a deep understanding of the recruitment process to support both local and international candidates navigate the transition to the BC healthcare system.
Having relocated from the US to Canada herself, Suzanne is familiar with both healthcare systems as well as the relocation and immigration process—experience she draws on to help health professionals transition smoothly into new opportunities in British Columbia.
Now based in beautiful Squamish BC with her young family, she is an avid skier, mountain biker, and trail runner- thoroughly enjoying the easy access to the mountains and recreational opportunities in her backyard.
Emily
Emily began her career supporting healthcare workers in 2020 when she joined the Locums for Rural BC Program at HEABC. In this role, she assisted rural communities across BC in finding locum physicians to meet their healthcare needs. In 2023, Emily transitioned to the Health Match BC Nursing team, where she now helps internationally educated nurses navigate their job search and find their dream job in BC.
Born and raised in Vancouver, Emily loves all that her province has to offer. On weekends, you can find her exploring new and trendy restaurants, hiking with her dog, or visiting with friends and family throughout BC.
With five years of experience supporting various healthcare roles, Emily brings a multifaceted perspective, and a deep understanding of the unique journey individuals experience when moving to a new province and transitioning into a new career.
Aashika
Aashika joined the Choose2Care team in 2022 where she supported Internationally Educated Health Care Professionals with their Health Care Assistant (HCA) registration pathway, as well as providing financial assistance to registered HCAs that are becoming Licensed Practical Nurses. Now part of the Health Match BC Nursing team, she is excited to continue her work by assisting nurses with employment services.
With a background in Psychology, Aashika has long been passionate about healthcare. She finds it deeply rewarding to contribute to the professional journeys of others within the sector and looks forward to working with you.
Outside of work, Aashika enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exploring new areas of British Columbia, and finding new cafes to enjoy sweet treats!
Jessica
Jessica has been a valued member of the Health Match BC team since July 2022. She previously supported internationally educated nurses (IENs) throughout their journey to practice in British Columbia and now assists Canadian nurses as they transition into roles across the province.
With a strong background in Human Resources, Jessica applies her expertise to help nurses find roles that align with their lifestyles and career goals. Passionate about making a meaningful impact, she believes that clear guidance and supportive relationships are key to empowering others. Jessica approaches her work with a commitment to continuous learning and growth, viewing each interaction as an opportunity to contribute to the success and well-being of BC’s healthcare community.
